Twenty-one teams entered Cascade’s Feb. 20-21 Rally School. Eight of those teams are new to Cascade road rally. At Friday night’s virtual Rally School meeting, they learned about road rally rules and how to interpret route instructions. Today, these teams put their newfound rally knowledge into practice by running a three-hour and nearly 100-mile road rally ending in Forest Grove. Congratulations to the top finishers: Marinus and Renee Damm, Paul Eklund and Yulia Smolyansky, and David and JoAnn Gattman. Saturday Rally Series Opener The 2026 Cascade Geargrinders Saturday Road Rally Series kicks into gear on March 21 with the first of six events. Teams who run three or more of the six rallies are eligible for Series Awards. Rallymasters David and JoAnn Gattman promise a fun rally romp with just the right balance of scenery, fun-to-drive roads, and rally challenge. The fun begins at Milwakie Lowes and ends at Stark Street Pizza, our club’s monthly meeting location. Cascade Sports Car Club's Road Rally program (aka Cascade Geargrinders) offers beginner-friendly time-speed-distance road rallies, lasting three to four hours, starting and ending in the Portland area. These events are open to club members and non-members, and to all types of vehicles. Road rally is a game you play while going for a drive in the country.
